Itaipu Dam SPECIAL VISIT
The best way of understanding the whole infrastructure of energy production of Itaipu Dam!
It is special - The special visit is really interesting, it does all the stops of the panoramic tour and goes inside of itaipu.
Designs - Itaipu is a masterpiece of engineering, huge dimensions and impressive rooms.
Si-fi scenery - Itaipu impresses much more from the inside, the futuristic atmosphere reminds a si-fi movie.
Inspection tour - The other plus is having technical staff explaining every little detail about Itaipu's functionality.
The Special Tour takes around 02:30 hours, english-speaking guides who are experts on energy production and Itaipu's background construction. The groups are not big in order to have a better understanding about the explanations. Helmets are mandatory and provided by the tour.
Central Command Room Station
It's a room where technicians control the power plant's operation by means of computers and electronic panels. Basically the brain of the whole Itaipu's operations, Brazilians and Paraguayans work together in this room.
The border - The yellow line represents the symbolic border between Paraguay and Brazil.
On the top - In on side the great Itaipu Lake, on the other the whole Itaipu Dam right at out feet.
Insights - The whole time the guides surprises us with a new interesting informations or insights about Itaipu.
Wow moments! - This is a wow moments tour for shure, every single detail of Itaipu makes wonder.
The Turbines!
One of the highlights of the tour is being right in front of the turbines, while functioning. Itaipu has 20 total but works with 18th at the time, 2 are always under maintenance.
